TripAdvisor Recognises Global Top Hotels With The 2018 Travellers’ Choice Awards
Viroth’s Hotel in Cambodia Named Top Hotel in the World

TripAdvisor®, the travel planning and booking site, today announced the Asian winners of its 2018 Travellers’ Choice® awards for Hotels.

Topping the Asia list is Viroth’s Hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia, which is also recognised as the #1 hotel in the World, followed by Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur in Jodphur, India and Hanoi La Siesta Hotel & Spa in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The iconic Raffles Hotel Singapore topped the list for Singapore, delivering experiences that impressed travellers all the way to #1 despite months of phased restoration, which saw the hotel closed in parts during the evaluation period.

“TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice awards for hotels is a showcase of cream of the crop accommodation that travellers can stay in all over the world. These are determined based on remarkable service, value and quality, all hallmarks of what makes a great stay regardless of traveller budget,” said Ms. Janice Lee Fang, communications director for APAC, TripAdvisor.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition from TripAdvisor, an accolade truly befitting of a Singapore icon,” says Christian Westbeld, General Manager, Raffles Singapore. “This is especially significant for such a unique year as 2017 was for us, as we embarked on the hotel’s phased restoration with our colleagues striving to continue to deliver the Raffles experience in the midst of this. The continued support from our guests is wonderful to see. It is a true testimony of what the Raffles service stands for – delivering genuine and personalised service at the oasis for the well-travelled.

We look forward to continuing our commitment to excellence when we reopen in the second half of 2018 where all our guests will be able to enjoy restored suites, newly opened bars, restaurants, courtyards and social areas; spaces designed to make Raffles Singapore the place to meet, spend time, shop and celebrate.”
