Great Yarmouth offers the best value holiday rentals this summer for Brits travelling domestically, a TripAdvisor study has revealed. For those planning a trip to Europe, Paphos in Cyprus is the most affordable destination.
TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals, with more than 700,000 vacation rentals around the world and more than 65,000 in the UK, today reveals what Brits can expect to spend on their holiday rental this summer in forty of the most popular destinations for UK travellers[i]. The price comparison study shows the average rate for two bedroom holiday rentals available in summer 2015 (1 July 2015 – 31 August 2015) in each destination[ii].
Grab a bargain in Great Yarmouth
For British travellers looking to stay closer to home this summer, Great Yarmouth is revealed as the best value destination, with the average rate on TripAdvisor for a two bedroom holiday rental coming out at £865
The second and third best value rates domestically can be found in Whitby in Yorkshire at an average of £1,439 and Ventnor on the Isle of Wight at an average of £1,599.
Cornwall takes the title of most popular county in the UK for summer holiday rentals as five Cornish destinations are named in the top twenty; Padstow, Bude, Falmouth, Newquay and St Ives.
Pick up a great deal in Paphos
For those who want to jet out of the UK for a holiday in Europe, Paphos in Cyprus offers the best value with the average two bedroom holiday rental rate on TripAdvisor at £1,005. Benalmadena and Nerja in Spain follow behind at £1,141.
“A holiday rental is a great accommodation option and a good way to cut costs, particularly for families who need more than a single bedroom,” commented TripAdvisor spokesperson, James Kay. “This study shows that for Brits still looking to book up a holiday for this summer, there are bargains to be had in Norfolk and Yorkshire and for those wishing to escape the UK, Cyprus and Spain offer great value. Travellers can find an extensive selection of properties available to book on TripAdvisor,” James continued.
