Havana Named Travellers’ Choice Destination On The Rise For 2013
Havana Tops 2013 World List, Based on the Reviews and Opinions of Millions of TripAdvisor Travellers Around the Globe

TripAdvisor®, the world’s largest travel site*, today announced the winners of its 2013 Travellers’ Choice™ Awards for Destinations on the Rise.  The awards highlight 54 spots globally that have seen the greatest increase in positive traveller feedback and traveller interest, year-over-year.

Havana, Cuba was the number one ranked destination for the top 10 in the world, while in Europe, the beach town of Corralejo in the Canary Islands claimed top spot, ahead of Porto and Krakow, Poland.

“A really diverse mix of destinations have caught the eye this past year – from the amazing history and culture of cities like Havana and Kathmandu, through to the sunny beaches of Fortaleza in Brazil - it is clear that travellers’ horizons are expanding all the time,” commented James Kay, TripAdvisor spokesperson, “In Europe, destinations as far north as Helsinki and as far south as Corralejo in the Canary Islands, have been able to bolster their reputation among travellers and attract new visitors.”
