London – January 15, 2008: An Edinburgh B&B is Scotland’s sole representative in the biggest international hotels awards scheme of its kind, the results of which were announced today. A total of 325 hotels were honoured in the sixth year of the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice competition. Unlike any other hotel awards programs that survey perhaps thousands of people, TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice winners are based on the millions of real and unbiased reviews and opinions about hotels on TripAdvisor sites and content from across the web.
Last year Scottish hostelries won five TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards, but 12 months on, the sole survivor is Gerald’s Place, Abercromby Place, Edinburgh. Once again it is ranked in the Top 10 Best Inns and B&B’s Europe, a category previously dominated by Scotland. The small two room establishment is widely praised by travellers on tripadvisor.co.uk who variously say “Gerald is Edinburgh’s Ambassador!“, “Gerald’s is the Place!
