London, October 4, 2007 – TripAdvisor®, the world’s largest travel community, today announced the results of its annual public transportation survey of more than 800 travellers worldwide, revealing that for the second year running London’s public transport system was voted best despite also being considered the most expensive. New York was second and Paris third favourite. London taxis and the Underground were also voted the best among the world’s major cities.
Los Angeles was chosen as the city with the worst public transportation system, according to survey respondents.

Eighty-three percent of respondents said they use public transportation when they are on vacation. Thirty-five percent said they use it during leisure time in their local area. Twenty-two percent of respondents take public transport to commute to work.
